Autism & Mitochondrial Problems-What are Mitochondria
Mitochondria are “organ systems” in our cells that produce an energy chemical called ATP. Mitochondria are crucial for our bodies to function properly. Oxidative stress, internal toxins, mold, and nutritional deficiencies can negatively affect mitochondrial activity. When suffering from mitochondrial disfunction, kids on the Autism spectrum will manifest poor language, poor eye contact, sleep issues and more as a result of poor function.
