Research: Benefits Of Intermittent Fasting Extend Beyond Weight Loss



Intermittent fasting is hitting the fast lane in the world of popular diets. It was one of the most talked about diet trends in 2017 — and now new research from the University of Surrey suggests that following such a diet could have real health benefits. Researchers found intermittent fasters cleared fat more efficiently than those on a daily calorie restriction diet, and saw a reduction in systolic blood pressure. They also cleared the fat from the blood after meals quicker than calorie cutters. However, the study was small, and further investigation is needed.
