In this lecture we will study about the very important organelle called as Mitochondria
00:18-2:23 Introduction, History
02:24-2:50 Numbers of Mitochondria
02:50-7:30 Structure under compound and electron microscope (inner and outer membrane), circular DNA, Matrix, Ribosome, cristae, F1 particles,
07:30-10:23 Functions
Mitochondria is a self replicating organelle it contains its own circular DNA and ribosomes and form own protein
It is consisted of various components
under compound microscope it appears like vesicles and under electron microscope it appears to be a very complex structure having various parts such as matrix, cristae etc
F1 particles are highly important that and after being processed come out the from inner membrane and they are also called as oxysome and from ATP from ADP
Function:
These organelles are very much important to carry out the electron transport chain that help to form ATP This is also site of various processes including Krebs cycle, aerobic respiration and fatty acid metabolism
