  4. This explains a lot. A few years back I got a job where I was working outside for my entire shift in Wisconsin. At the time I was eating the traditional 5-6 meals/day bodybuilding protocol. I was also very intolerant to the cold. This particular job often required me to go long periods between meals. Around this time I upped my intake of monounsaturated fat and fat in general while reducing carbs. Within a couple of months I was able to walk around in 20 degree weather in nothing but a long sleeve shirt. I was also below 10% BF. I later learned that cold exposure increases brown fat activity. The other info in this video makes total sense based on my experience.

Pro-tip: White fat can be converted into brown fat from being in cold climates, so you can turn your air conditioning on and set it to 70 degrees.. take your shirt off donโ€™t care what you identify as, just take yer top off… and find an area in that cold setting to walk around for a good while while your body gets colder, as a bonus, if your hands are cold you can place it over your fatter areas of the body for added effect. Walking burns fat, so your essentially taking off fat and converting white fat into brown at the same time. Then you can find a warmer area to do some HIIT cardio or light resistance training to work up a sweat and continue to take off portions of your fatty areas over time EFFECTIVELY. If you do this often, you will see results. you can alternatively do cold and hot baths/showers… but this is time consuming and wasting water for limited fat loss so.. not a better alternative but if your lazy, then.. meh ๐Ÿ˜‘๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

  8. I have a life changing story. bear with me. I used to be morbidly obese. 150KG. I used to eat healthy and go to the gym but nothing worked?! why? bc i was running on carbs my whole life. Most people including myself back then, are not medically trained or know the science behind metabolism and basic human anatomy. Every time that u eat carbs you raise your insulin which stores those carbs that you can't burn off into visceral fat…. My friend introduced me to keto and fasting then I found Thomas' channel. First few weeks of the 16โ€”8 fast was tough because I was always hungry. This was not because my body was in shock but after a month I got used to it. I I broke my fast with 2 handful of almonds then I had bacon eggs and Avocado and with 4 tablespoons of butter. Every fortnight I pushed my 16 hr fast an extra hour. So it became 17>18>19>20>21>22>23>24 I follow Dr berg + diet doctor for extra tips and recipes. You have to gradually break your own plateau in your own time when you feel comfortable. I currently do 3x 36 hour fasts a week and on the other days I eat one meal a day. I'm currently 69kg, I'm not recognizable and I feel amazing. I had surgery to cut off excess dead fat from my abdominal area. anyone reading this and can relate, I congratulate you.     As an Analogy of WHY Fasting is Good… OKAY! No Problem!

  12. Thomas, I really want to do a 24h+ of fasting but I'm also very active (calisthenics & running). It seems to me like an impossible mission. Can you do a video about fasting for atheletes? Thanks ๐Ÿ˜„
