I’ve taken many cold showers over the past few years, and the benefits are not what you’d expect. There have been clinical studies on the benefits of taking cold showers, ranging from: Improving mood, muscle recovery, alleviating depression, and boosting your immune system. I’ve experience many of these myself, but it’s not just about that.
When it comes to your health, you can’t just rely on cold showers. There are many other health practices that benefit you in these ways to a greater degree. The reason I take cold showers does’t have to do with any of these benefits backed by science.
Not many of us ENJOY taking cold showers, but we do it anyways. When you do something that you know has a positive outcomes, even though you hate doing it, it builds emotional and physical resilience. Being able to set aside those internal forces and get it done anyways. This “strength” can be carried out in many areas of your life.
We all face challenges and stresses in life, so if you could intentionally put yourself through this emotional and physical discomfort consistently…imagine what else you could overcome.
