As the general public has shown increased interest in ancestry, companies have responded with at-home ancestry kits, software, and databases. At the same time, scientists continue to work in the area of genetics looking at a person’s genetic markers and how these markers provide clues to a patient’s likelihood of getting particular diseases (including COVID-19), or how they might respond to different drug therapies.
