  1. I think one would be wise to follow the protocol developed for Waon Therapy as described in the Journal of Cardiology paper, "Waon therapy improves the prognosis of patients with chronic heart failure." The protocol was as follows:

    "Patients were treated with a far infrared-ray dry sauna at 60 °C (140 °F) for 15 min and then kept on bed rest with a blanket for 30 min. The patients were treated daily for 5 days during admission, and then at least twice a week after discharge.

    Certainly, your suggestion to progress slowly is very sound advice. I think the additive effect of
    bed rest covered with a blanket for 30 minutes is critical to Waon Therapy's success with treating diverse systemic, chronic disease and should be considered by those of us in the west who take regular sauna sessions.
