  1. I'm a stress eater. When I was younger it was opposite. I had lost 20 lbs before this hit and over 2020 I had gained 15 lbs back. So now I am doing damage control. I think people need to realize that being obese is an emotional issue and until we get to the heart of the issue, nothing will work. I will read Dr. Chatterjee's book and hopefully it will help me. Much gratitude to you both.

  2. It’s not news that overweight or obese ppl have mental health issues and had likely been traumatized. Losing weight should always be coupled with a therapist…etc.

  3. Your comment “not what are you eating, but what is eating you” blew my mind.
    That is exactly why I can’t lose weight. Mentally I’m stuck in a traumatic situation that happened almost a decade ago.
    And it’s only on the very rare occasion, when I’m surrounded by positive supportive people, that I feel the ability to move, walk, or exercise.
    Thank you for opening my eyes to this. I’ll focus on surrounding myself with positive people more often.

I did the same thing. i was in an abusive relationship for 13 years and put on weight to not only to punish myself but i used my fatness as a shield to keep people away. fast foward 10 years, i lost the weight quickly (120 lbs) with the HCG diet and kept it off for years. but now i wrecked my thyroid and my hormones. now i've put weight on and i'm back to square one. ugh..
