  1. I gained 7lbs a month eating a fruit-only diet for 5 months. It was mostly berries. I don't like fruit, especially extra sweet fruit, so I didn't eat bananas, grapes, and mangos are gross, so I didn't eat them.

  2. I really enjoyed this interview. Thank you Judy for the work that you are doing. Thank you for not being dogmatic and trying to get to the root cause of what makes us sick.

  3. whole fruit and fruit juice both have horrible effects on me…..I wish docs would not keep saying otherwise. I have been following Dr Lustig since his first speech came out many years ago. Sugar still peaks with piece of fruit! even berries!

  4. I like Dr. Lustig's knowledge, but he has consistently advocated for things like a soda tax. In other words, the same man who says government knows sugar is bad for you wants that same government to institute a tax on you for consuming it. So, what happens when that same government caves to people like Bill Gates and says, "meat is bad for you, let's put a tax on meat!" A dangerous precedent to try taxing people's food choices. Taxes put certain things out of reach for poor people, who are, let's face it, getting poorer every day these days. If anyone needs more meat in their diets, it's poor people, who consistently buy ultra processed foods because of their shelf stability making them cheaper to have around to eat when they want, while the veggies rot in the crisper drawer.

  5. Branched chain amino acids also increase insulin resistance. So do Omega 6 processed oils, which are also causative for cancer and Alzheimers. Even expensive restaurants use processed vegetable oils. I never use them at home, but I still lost 30 lbs when I stopped eating out on weekends due to the pandemic. As soon as I get anything with Omega 6 oils, I gain weight again.

  6. "Wearables' are a violation of privacy. They beam the information out to your doctor, the manufacturer, and whoever else it gets sold to. The wearer should have the right to decide who gets information on their personal physiology.

  7. The individual certainly has enough information to act. The problem is that to avoid processed food, you have to cook all your meals from scratch, and it can be problem to find the time/energy to do that all the time, especially if you are already sick. Things happen that take up your time. Organic food and pastured meats are also very expensive.

  8. A lot of fruits and vegetables are high in salicylates, which cause sensitive people to have stomach pain and diarrhea. Some grains are also high in salicylates. If you can't eat that, a high complex carb diet is problematic when you are limited to green seedless grapes, green beans, peeled potatoes, celery, peeled green apples, cabbage, and not much else. (The salicylates are in the peel.)

  9. Dentists don't want good nutrition, either. They make all their money on caps and implants. They don't even want to fill cavities the old fashioned way, any more. If people didn't get cavities, they would go bankrupt.

  10. A lot of gut bacteria make histamine. Probiotics can make people sensitive to histamine VERY sick to their stomachs. This includes the lactobaccillus in yogurt and other fermented pickles. Take your probiotics and shove them where the sun doesn't shine. I'm not going to kill myself to meet your standards.

  11. Don't you think that if our body has the process of gluconeogenesis, it means that glucose is essential for life and should be added with food?

  12. Dr Lustig said pretty emphatically that all visceral fat is caused by stress. I understand that stress influences the accumulation of fat, but it cannot be the Only cause? Is it?

  13. I actually called Dr Lustig 8 years ago when I was naive enough to think I could encourage researchers to study the health benefits of meat based dieting.

I told him my story of curing my health issues on a raw meat based diet; and he told me he believed me; but said he couldnโ€™t see any way such study would ever be funded and conducted under the current system

So here I am 12 years into my own experiment and the science wonโ€™t give me the time of day.

And because I advocate for many other controversial lifestyle practices; much of the Mainline carnivore community wonโ€™t even speak with me about by years of experience with the carnivore diet.

    Wink wink ๐Ÿ˜‰ Judy

  14. This guy has always tip toed around the whole carnivore mentality and always tried to find reason to eat plants, whereas in reality there is none. Who would ever chew on a sugar cane ? No one apart from Panda bears maybe. The Sugar that you know is made in a lab. Think of how much sugar is in every supermarket/cafe/restaurant on the entire planet – it's beyond imagination but where does that all come from ? Where are the sugar plantations. Same as honey – in every shop in the world but where are the bees ? Fake food
    PS. Glycaemic index is nonsense

  15. Dumb double speak. "I'm not low carb but I am reduce glucose levels." make up your mind. Of course people should say they are right if they are right. Right is right and wrong is wrong, people inside from every place in the world are all EXACTLY the same. This guy is a schill.

  16. Kind of strange Lustig suggests that you don't absorb fructose/sugar from whole fruit due to the presence of fiber, when it is quite obvious that we do absorb fructose/sugar despite the fiber. After all, we have a strong desire for the taste of fructose, and most of the fructose we encountered throughout evolution came from fruit that was high in fiber…if we didn't absorb it and make use of it despite the fiber, we would not have evolved the taste for it.

  17. Robert Lustig's video Sugar: The Bitter Truth saved my life. It made me interested in metabolic science. It started me on the path to health I am still on today after cutting sugar and refined carbs, then Keto and now 50/50 Carnivore-Keto. I am strong and healthy. He is my original hero. Since his revelations opened my eyes, I've discovered many more nutritional hero's, including you Judy Cho. Thank you for having Dr. Lustig on.

  18. Definitely don't agree with the need for "wearables" in order to know what groceries to buy…. I think that's called a conflict of interest… hhhmmm
Also, I believe it's the cortisol spike in middle of night that wakes you up… (secondary to liver not yet producing adequate glucose) this would be during adaptation when the body is adjusting to utilization of fat for fuel… it goes away and if you continue to use carbs for fuel that results in metabolic confusion…. stand for something or you'll fall for anything

  19. As long as we allow central government we will provide an access point of influence for BIG food , BIG pharma, BIG war and so on. So what to do ???? DECENTRALISATION, duh bro!!!!!
The attached authorities we think are there to protect us , CDC,FDA etc. are there as PASSIFIERS for we the babies /people so we keep sleeping.

  20. An n of many isnโ€™t science either. Because we are not rats of the same genotype investigated under the same circumstances.

What counts for each one of us, is the individual best possible outcome.

  21. Basically you can do a science degree's worth of work of analysis reading nutrition labels, ingredients ratios, sugar type lists for specific foods, etc and keep eating fruit without too much harm. OR … just cut it out completely and get the same results. It's too much work to tip toe around plant and fruit matter trying to gain the sweet and avoid the damage, and all the while keeping that inevitable sugar addiction at bay. It's too much. That's why I'm carnivore. With fruit, I felt like an addict trying to math my way out of poor health.

  22. Rob Lustig can't decide between low fat and low carb, because he still cites studies that can't find a difference, but the studies listed up to 200g of carbs/day as low carb. Of course you can't see a difference then. Duh.

  23. Thank you for posting another great video! Always interesting and educational. I watch all of them as I come across them. Too bad and sad that most people have no interest in learning this and will keep killing themselves with the standard American diet. Ignorance is bliss in these people.

  24. Why is fruit juice thought to be natural, and therefore much better health wise than carbonated store bought sucrose sweetened qdrinks? Juice from many plants and animals occupies the cultural defined position of the essence or soul of the plant or animal. In Biblical based religions blood has mystical properties. In the distant past the soul was thought to be in the blood. In many diets believed to improve health the juice of the plant or blood of the animal was the important ingredient. This accounts or the healing properties attributed to orange juice, carrot juice, beet juice, etc, etc..

  25. I've abandoned the middle store isles in favor of the products my local rancher provides and have regained my health and freedom. Thank you Judy & Dr. Lustig for all you do!
