An imaging guided surgeon (interventional radiologist) & neuroradiologist, author of nutrition, medical & study skills books, Peter Rogers MD is the “Spartan Vegan.”
In college he was student athlete of the year at Stanford. Graduated 1st in medical school class.
Dr. Rogers works as neuroradiologist, but also did fellowship imaging guided surgery (interventional radiology) at Harvard. He got fat in 30’s and learned his way out. He was one of best medical students in USA in biochemistry and tries to understand pathophysiology. Has written a books about nutrition & study skills including “How to improve blood flow,” “Hot topics in nutrition,” “Straight A at Stanford & on to Harvard,” “How to raise IQ, & become a genius.”
Stanford university student athlete of the year, 1985. University of Illinois medical school award for best male medical student in class; best student in pathology; highest board scores in class of 333 students; biochemistry score 780/800, possibly the highest in the USA (biochem is the most difficult subject in medical school). Biochem is “considered” to include nutrition. Residency at Northwestern with 99% board scores. Fellowship in interventional radiology (imaging guided surgery) at Harvard. Fellowship in neuroradiology at Rush.
Author of multiple books about nutrition, reducing risk of disease, and study skills. Discovered almost all the major medical textbooks are 50-100 years out of date, and often, completely wrong. Secret desire #1 = to become a nutrition doctor, but can’t, because there’s no money in it. Secret desire #2 = to rewrite the major medical textbooks, but can’t, because there’s no money in it. The shocking truth is that most medical textbooks are essentially worthless, because they do no include nutrition, and most disease is caused by poor nutrition.

Great to see you again on Chef AJ's channel dr. Rogers, it's where i found you the first time. Thank you for this presentation Chef AJ and dr. Rogers.
eat only sweet potatoes and drink water for 1 yr, what do you think
water fasting for 30 days, what do you think
Thankyou. This was wonderful. And what a birthday for me since he will be back on that day.
Dr Peter Rogers is God sent ❤
What a great show this guy is awesome
Dr Rogers is FANTASTIC. His ability to reading, digesting, remembering and make conclusions within health and nutrition matters is second to none. Not speaking english as my primary language from time to time I wish he should speak a little slower.
Dr. Rogers is new to me. Thank you Chef AJ for bringing him to us! I really enjoyed him. I’m looking forward to learning more from him.
What a good reminder that a lot us learn visually so the drawings do help to leave an impression that isn’t easily forgotten. Thanks!❤
He has Dr Gregor energy
I love that pyramid….sent it to a bunch of friends…Very interesting talk! Thank you.
Thank you Chef AJ for this video, Dr. Rogers is so knowledgeable and entertaining. I love his illustrations!?
Wow! What was that? My mind is blown. A big thank you to Chef AJ and Dr. Rogers.
Diet Pyramid drawing had me laughing ? Love the visuals and artwork
Ohh wow! Love, love, love this Doctor! Ton of energy and passion to what he is doing and educating about! Thank you so much, AJ, for inviting amazing people to your podcasts! Always love! Always look forward to new episodes! ??♥️???
Once a month is not enough for this doctor. Fabulous lecture. Just what we all need. I see some areas where I can sharpen my diet. I'm 75 and in great health with WFPB, and want to stay that way.

Wow, wow, wow! I am so impressed and can’t wait to hear more golden nuggets from Dr. Roger’s amazing knowledge. I was diagnosed a week ago with Uterine cancer, grade 2.
I was told by my doctor that a hysterectomy would cure me.
My gut feeling is to go on a 3 week water fast and then eat
food that will build up my immune system. I have family and friends that are telling me to get the surgery first, and then do the fasting and diet. If you were me Chef AJ and Dr. Rogers what would you do?
HOLY SH*T! That was insane…loved this so much! Thank you…much love, so kind of the Dr. To share this.
I love Dr. Rogers! We could actually see him up close and look how cute he is! Thank you, AJ!
He was absolutely outstanding. Thank you Chef A.J. Wish he would speak a little slower though.
Hahaha that first drawing. This guys is great. I always look forward to his videos. He’s very intelligent and very funny.
goodness you make ne laugh Dr Rogers….love the monkey misogyny joke….LUUUVVVV how youre so politically incorrect!! ????
Chef AJ
this guy has to be on your show monthly!! Love you Dr Rogers…informative…amusing…pulls no punches…every day i wake up hoping….seriously HOPING, he has put another post on YouTube….alas it's not always the case ?….
Wonderful lecture. What a superb mom, who thought of others even when she had cancer.
Great lecture! He mentioned that as a man he wouldn't screen for prostate cancer. What is his thoughts on women screaming for breast cancer?
This was amazing!! Maybe he can come back and do a part 2? I would really love to hear more details on the slides he skimmed over during towards the end. Thank you so so much!! I learned so much, and this really helps to keep me motivated and my eye on the why.
So happy Dr Rogers will be on monthly ???
I enjoy listening to Dr. Rogers but I am afraid his delivery of the information is more for the already converted than for new people searching for answers. My friends and family who are not pland-based woud be put off by his delivery so would not really take the time to hear him out. That – sadly – includes a very good friend who is battling cancer now but would feel lost if listening to this. I could wish it otherwise as there is much here that is worth hearing.
Chef AJ's guests are always so interesting. Keep up the good work!!!
I love dom dagostino, love dr Thomas Seyfried, love Dr Moss, n now this brilliant man. SO MUCH CONTRADICTORY data!!!
Dr. Kempner drawing….lol.
This is an awesome video. But I have an issue with not agreeing to chemo if the 5 year survival rate is <30%. I’m a retired RN, worked mostly CVICU, but worked in oncology during the late 80s early 90s. I have a friend who had leukemia and nearly died multiple times after getting a bone marrow transplant. My friend was a patient of the oncologist I worked with. One day after my friend had been hospitalized with pneumonia, I asked the Doc what the prognosis was for my friend. He firmly said in a nice way, “What does prognosis have to do with anything? If the prognosis was 5% and Lee( my friend) was one of those 5%, what difference does the other 95% make?” Prognosis is sometimes overrated as in my friends case. And this is important to me as I have primary metastatic gastric cancer with Mets to the liver. Prognosis is terrible. It’s considered palliative and not curative. I love my chemo. The PET scan after 4 treatments/ 8 weeks showed the tumors shrunk over 50%. During that time I have been learning things regarding the metabolic pathways, but had I waited those 8 weeks to implement all the great things in this video, no telling what the status of those tumors could have been. Just sayin’. I’ll definitely review this material over and over again. So big thank you to AJ and Dr Rogers for the upload.
I’m a little confused with some of the foods. As a cancer patient, I’ve read that some plant fats can be good in slowing cancer growth. These foods are walnuts and peanut that are supposedly good for prevention of colon cancer (a common metastatic site if experiencing Liver Ca as myself). Soy is another one. Dr Rogers says 20% of calories is probably acceptable. I eat a tofu scramble daily. I’ll spread peanut butter on apple slices, and a handful of chopped walnuts on my morning oatmeal. I’ll also make a nightly Golden Milk, which has Tumeric as an antioxidant, anti inflammatory, add some pepper, but also a tbsp of Miyokos vegan butter. It does have some oil and fat from coconut oil and cashews. The fat and pepper aid in absorption of curcumin. Comments?
I love information, the only scary part is there is now less and less food I can eat. I am vegan. I also have a thyroid thing going on so I can't consume cruciferous vegetables and that covers so much, spinach, broccoli, cauliflower, kale and on and on. Now beans and lentils are not good. I am sad and frustrated.
