This is the first of two lectures I gave to a group of medical/health professionals on the clinical application of high-dose vitamin B1.
In this video I outline the basics of how the body uses this nutrient, why deficiency is likely more prevalent than it is conventionally thought to be, and how high doses may be working via different mechanisms to improve chronic health issues.

Hello Elliot! You mentioned in the beginning of your video “brand doesn’t matter” when purchasing/using Thiamine supplements. I came across a Nerve Doctor who stated most are made in China with Coal Tar and it’s extremely rare to find a good quality product. Please let me know your thoughts. I’ve already ordered supplements from your website and looking forward to my new journey regarding Oxalates and Your Supplements 😊
For me benfotiamine 250mg+ feels like I have more oxygen too. Any ideas how biochemically it could be anti-hypoxic? Even blood MCV went from 100 to 97… None of methylated or regular Bs complexes gave me that.
Thank you Elliot.
Great info Elliot, your work is helping a tremendous amount of people!!!
This is Carole Z— when i take Benfo it makes my heart palpate and when i move around its worse….I'm only taking half of a half capsule…I'm afraid to take it…ant comments about this reaction…
This is great information amazing I love it and I passed it and shared it with quite a number of people already I've been listening to you for awhile and definitely doing what you are suggesting keep it up
Great video.
Interesting that b6 toxicity has similar dysautonomia and other neuro symptoms. Only difference is b6 toxicity has muscle twitching. But i wonder if b1 can treat b6 toxicity — or if it leads to a b1 deficiency somehow.
Love you Elliot ❤❤❤I have been following you since the beginning and I cannot express my gratitude to you for what you have done for my husband and I. You are my hero 🎉. Love from South Africa 🇿🇦
Top notch! I'm assuming if you had RA a year before all the dysautonomia symptoms that could very well have lead to it….. thanks for mentioning the shortness of breath upon standing! No one talks about that. I assure you all that it is REAL and very distressing therfore adding to the problem. 💯💯💯
Dude. Thank you. For realz
More information on testing before spending lots of money.
Are synthetic B vitamins like b1,b2,b3 etc. safe?
Gold!,thanks.
You've been Americanized, haha.
You pronounced 'processed' with short 'o' rather than the long 'o'.
I started taking a vitamin b complex(I thought it's a good idea to start with before taking just b1), and I already have unpleasant side effects like insomnia, headache, and peeing too much too often, and my urine is sort of neon yellow!
I do take with it magnesium and recently added potassium, after I've heard this gentleman's advice.
I have long standing mental health problems, IBS, and as of recently Long Covid.
If anyone has any advice about what I can add to my supplement regimen, please don't hesitate.
Thank you!
My gawd this is important info!
I realize there is a lot to cover hear but it's very difficult to take it in at such high speed. There doesn't seem to be a way to slow it down on youtube. I can just barely understand what is being said let alone fully cimprehend it.
(Great info) So, if I do not tolerate sulfites in wine or meats, etc, then I should not try TTFD version??
😊😊
Not a form of B1 covered in the video, but the coenzymated form works best for me, cocarboxylase, also called thiamine pyrophosphate, or thiamine diphosphate. It is not as widely available as the other forms. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thiamine_pyrophosphate
Why do live in France and not in England, Elliot?
Haha the fastforward speech is great! Works well.
Please please talk about negative reactions/allergic reactions to taking B1 supplements. I had a really terrible experience a few weeks ago 😞
Tried 25 mg of b1 3 weeks in made things worse took it out feel way better
I just saw a video that Canada is banning supplements. I also noticed there are a lot of supplements I can't order anymore from iHerb and some are banned in my country or about to be banned.
Naturopaths and herbalists are speaking up as they won't be able to do their job anymore.
I was worried something like this would happen.
Dude slow down!
