NIH awards $10.6 million for Central Nervous System Metabolism Research Center at UK



The University of Kentucky has been awarded a $10.6 million, five-year Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) grant to study central nervous system metabolism from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS), part of the National Institutes of Health. The goal of the COBRE is to create a strategically designed framework focused on the role of metabolic mediators of brain function and disease, with an emphasis on encouraging excellence from early-career researchers.
