Is Mouthwash Damaging Your Nerves?
—————————————————————
Today, we’re diving into a startling topic– the dangerous truth about mouthwash. We’ve all seen the commercials — just 30 seconds of swishing mouthwash and your teeth will be whiter, your gums will be healthier, and bad breath just disappears!

Except… That’s not what happens.

Do you know conventional mouthwash can wreak havoc with the health and recovery of your peripheral nerves. And many people use it EVERY DAY without realizing the potential risks.

So, in this video, we’ll explore the shocking ingredients lurking in your favorite mouthwash, their effects on your health, and the science behind it all.

The mouthwash industry in the U.S. is Gi-normous. According to the research groups Grand View Research, Statista and Mordor Intelligence, mouthwash companies generated over 5 billion dollars in sales last year with antiseptic mouthwashes leading the pack. In fact, Listerine continues to be the leading antiseptic brand with annual sales exceeding 354 million dollars.

We go to great lengths to have fresh breath and good oral hygiene. However, there’s a very dark side to mouthwash that can impact your peripheral nerve’s ability to recover.

  1. Absolutely love your presentations
I’m a rather new subscriber and loving it

    Question if I can …
The teeth whitening rinse is it as much a danger as you have outlined in your video regarding conventional mouth washes like scope and listerine

Again thx for all you do
    Hoping you’ll reply
    Thx again

  2. excellent video…though i've been using an alcohol-free mouthwash, ironically only this week so it hasn't been used much, i'll never use it again….i, like many others, have the misfortune to be cursed with burning mouth syndrome so using mint is a definite no-no for us but the baking soda and coconut oil pulling ideas should be ok

  3. Thank you so much, doctor for this very important information. I use listerine mouthwash daily and had no idea how damaging it was to my body. I will make my own mouthwash as per your recipe. We very much appreciate what you are doing. Please continue to educate us all. ❤🙏👍💯

  4. Some of my nerve (femoral nerve i think) gets pinched in my backbone, resulting in weird sensations only (No pain or negligible pain) in my left leg specially in shin & calf area & its disturbing. Whenever i try to do strengthen my back it disturbs that pinched nerve ,the sensations gets more disturbing. can you explain whats happening ?

  5. I have found that red dye 40 is addictive. Ask any red vine addict ! The combination of sugar and red dye is definitely hard to cut out of your diet ~took me many times going on the wagon to get there.

  6. Thank you for this information. I am very glad I have never been able to tolerate mouthwash, I could only hold it in my mouth for one second before the burning was so intense I had to get rid of it. Now I am very happy that happens! I have been oil-pulling every single day for about 10 yrs now. I don't think I could start the morning without it. I also brush my teeth by dipping tooth brush in a set-aside for it jar of organic coconut oil, then add a small drop of tee tree oil, then one small dab of toothpaste on top. It is a nice, gentle tooth brushing formula and makes my mouth feel nice.

  7. You know what gets me? The same agencies that allow all these toxic chemicals in everything we touch made Preparation-H take shark oil out of its formula because they said it did not do anything (it did).

  8. As informative as this is, it's like a headache to a drowning man. I mean, it's hard to find vitamins and medications that don't have many of these. They've been talking about how bad polysorbate-80 is for 50 years now.

  9. Hi, I found your practice on utube. Just received your book in the mail today. Can’t wait to start reading. Then I’m sure I’ll have lots of questions. I have had neuropathy in my feet for approximately 15 years. Also learned that carpal tunnel is related. Had surgery on right hand to get relief. Still have it in left hand. 😢 I’ll probably contact your practice when I finish reading your book. Very glad I found you.

  10. Doc, can you please make a video about toothpaste? Is it safe to use commercial toothpaste? Or should we use DIY toothpaste? How to make DIY good toothpaste? Thank you.

P.S. My peripheral nerve getting better. I come from Indonesia 😊

  11. I think it's been 20 years or more for me staying away from store bought mouth washes because of harmful ingredients like chemical coloring, Alcohol and other chemicals. I clean my mouth with hydrogen peroxide 3% 3-1(water). 4-1 is also OK. I've been told off the shelf hydrogen peroxide has a chemical added to it. Food grade HP is more expensive. It only has hydrogen peroxide in it. I've heard Doctors say the off the shelf stuff is fine as long as not ingesting or nebulizing it.

  12. I am shocked and appalled. Is any commercial product safe? I've been using Listerine since around late 2017 – first the anti-gingivitis version, and then the Total Care with fluoride. My muscle and neuropathy problems possibly started as far back as 2019 with minor progressive weakness in the legs, and then sore feet as Plantar Fasciitis in 2020 and 2022, and finally total neuropathy in my leg, and possibly elsewhere. I've tried to think of other possible contributors – my Dr. suggested the poor quality vitamins I've been taking. I've had problem teeth and gums, so it seemed mouthwash was a good way to deal with it, and it seems to work, but I would rather have my legs and my life back. Will see if my blood test reveals anything suggesting diabetes, but that seems doubtful, and getting an ultra-sound to check the blood flow in my legs. In the meantime I guess it is wise to eliminate any and all possibilities until the condition improves. It's just weird and ironic that every time I think I am doing something to improve my health, it negatively affects me somewhere else.

  13. is covarin blue similar to blue 1 , pentylene blue to propylene glycol, and polysorbate 20 to polysorbate 80. I'm asking because my mouth wash contains similar ones. please reply. thanks.
