An all-too-large percentage of the population suffers from poor sleep, achy joints, feelings of fatigue, brain fog, and what I call FLC (“feel like crap”) syndrome. This epidemic has a number of factors, most of which are caused by our modern lifestyles and diets. But one of the major factors of such dysfunction is poor mitochondrial health.

In today’s episode of my series I’m calling Health Bites, I dive deep into our mitochondria—what it is, why it’s so important, and what you can do to support your mitochondrial health.

This episode is brought to you by Rupa University, Cozy Earth, and Super Simple Grassfed Protein.

  1. Well….just look at all the GARBAGE that’s available for consumption ! No wonder. I listen to a 25 year cardiologist and his suggestion was NOT to buy anything with a UPC code ? Doesn’t leave much. Ty Doc ~ have a beautiful day ?? Absolutely fascinating interview btw !! The gut is finally becoming a focal point that affects everything ?

  2. I use to watch lost too, worst final episode of any show! I just had DDJ, duodenojejunostomy, surgery and I'm pretty sure I have SIBO. My doctor has no idea what SIBO means.

  3. Can CIBO cause you to feel like you have a bladder infection? Really bad bladder pain? But urine test showed no infection only a small bit of inflammation.

  4. Any chance you could shorten this to 5-7 minutes. I 100% guarantee you could….. These repetitive videos where you spend the first 30 minutes, giving definitions of things that been repeated Ad infinitum is truly frustrating. Just get to the point no one needs the definitions and the waffle given each video

  5. Very fascinating talk on a very complex subject. I developed IBS in the mid 90’s. I was advised to go high fibre which made the problem much worse. Mine was caused by a mixture of high stress and food intolerance. In the end I sent a blood sample to a private lab here in the UK. They found I had mild intolerance to Brazil nuts, egg white, and garlick, but my main intolerance was to yeast which was a 4+ reaction being the strongest reaction that they had seen at that time. I modified my diet. No other treatment. The GP just said keep taking the Imodium! Eventually Imodium also made things much worse.

  6. This guy might know a lot about SIBO and the gut . Did I just hear him say that steaks and cholesterol cause heart disease. Yeah I’m not sure if I agree with him there.!!!

  7. Zero interest from doctors as to SIBO, it's not even a disease. Went to an "expert", who did a coloscopy and declared you've IBS, we don't know what's causing it, no cure and goodbye. Not even a breath test. As for gas production, my trigger is garlic. I can't get rid of the gas, which destroys my social life. We're on our own.

  8. So what do you do if your dr says it looks like IBS, do the low FODMAP diet and then you’re on your own? Did colonoscopy & endoscopy and been doing low FODMAP for couple months now. Reintroduction phase is so hard alone! I get a flare up & go back to low FODMAP
Diet only to suffer diarrhea. ?

  9. I have 2 children with gut issues. Seen the GI and Naturopath. Tried changes in the diet. 14 years and ongoing. Never heard of SEBO. I feel sad for them, as it affects them physically and emotionally.

  10. The thing that saved me back then was Thymol (Thyme Oil), Dr. Hyman. Here they extract it by VCO (virgin coconut oil), but I hear that Pau D'Arco, Grapefruit Seed Extract and Olive Leaf Extract are also beneficial for SIFO. Thymol cleared my H. Pylori overgrowth which my internist failed to eradicate by three times shots of antibiotics.

Thank you for your works in this area. It is an enlightment for the people. =)

  11. My nutritionist did a fecal test on me. It came back that I had a leaky gut and an overgrowth of yeast & bacteria. She has me on a 4-month regimen called Cell Core. I'm also supposed to eat more fermented foods, kefir, and more diversity. I haven't felt well for a year now. Any advice you can give me would be much appreciated. I listen to you all the time.

  12. Dr Hyman, please consider joining a less restrictive platform to show your videos as a sign of dispproval of the censorship of all your other colleagues YT doctors who have been censored.

In effect this would be a non violent protest which is the only method WE can ALL send a message to the Powers that Be, that their undemocratic techniques of stifling the opposite viewpoint is similar to that found in Despotic controlled governments, NOT of civilized nations.

Please take care and continue to produce your videos, hopefully on another platform.

  13. Dr krishnan from Microbiome lab will give you more clear answers to your questions
He will tell you that probiotic is imperative treatment for sibo with fiber it’s just the time and how to use them
Lot sibo patients got better with probiotics fiber adding acid and digestive enzymes and May be bile to their regime
Why nothing discussed clearly about that ?
