Boost.
From glucose, bonds break and energy flows,
Through various molecules, energy goes.
Mitochondria are responsible for making ATP,
The energy currency of the cell.
The energy can be used to carry out its function.
Energy and function can make conjunction.
Mitochondria are Oval-shaped, membrane-bound.
This what is found in these organelles.
That have their own DNA and ribosomes.
Each membrane is a phospholipid bilayer embedded with proteins.
The inner layer has folds called cristae.
The area surrounded by the folds is called the mitochondrial matrix.
Both of them have different roles in cellular respiration.
