Genome editing technologies have provided us unprecedented power. With these technologies we began to not only change the life code of other species around us, but our own species as well. This talk will introduce general genome editing technologies with a specific focus on CRISPR technology, the latest of such tools. University of Virginia associate professor Mazhar Adli discusses the general application areas of CRISPR tools ranging from correcting genetic diseases and uses in agriculture, as well as covering major ethical concerns and moral dilemmas about current and future applications.
