Bioenergetics as it Relates to Fitness and Exercise

https://www.nestacertified.com/personal-fitness-trainer-certification/ Bioenergetics is defined as the study of the transformation of energy in living organisms, or alternatively, a system of alternative psychotherapy based on the belief that emotional healing can be aided through resolution of bodily tension.

Cells store glycogen as a means of supplying carbohydrates as an energy source. For example, during exercise, individual muscle cells break down glycogen into glucose (this process is called glycogenolysis) and use the glucose as a source of energy for contraction.

REMEMBER: Bioenergetics is the flow of energy a biological system, and describes the conversion of macronutrients (carbs, protein, fat, which all contain chemical energy) into micronutrients (glucose, ATP) that can be used for energy. The energy is harvested from the breakdowns of chemical bonds within the macronutrients.
