Atrazine herbicide is in water and meat. Gets sprayed on corn & grass. Atrazine = powerful estrogenic = transform male frogs into females. It’s 2nd most common herbicide used in USA. Another reason why I only eat organic food. It also is detrimental to the immune system, and has been associated with decreasing lymphocyte NK cell activity. NK cells are important for removing cancer cells. Author of the paper listed here suggests that atrazine might partially inhibit inner mitochondrial membrane complexes 1 & 3. Atrazine has also been described as an OBESOGEN = can increase risk of obesity. Not surprising, because estrogen is a fat storage hormone. High estrogen levels in a sense “tell” the body, that it’s “pregnant” and needs to store more fat = because the “baby” might need it for energy.
