This presentation will highlight some of the latest bench and clinical research into new diabetes and obesity treatments. We will focus on exercise, diet, incretin therapies, and surgical approaches together with an introduction to a novel national obesity public awareness campaign called “Obecity, USA – the State of America”.
Presenter Dr. John Kirwan is Executive Director of the Pennington Biomedical Research Center and holds the George A. Bray, Jr. Endowed Super Chair in Nutrition. He also leads the Integrated Physiology and Molecular Medicine Laboratory at Pennington Biomedical and is the Director/Principal Investigator of the Louisiana Clinical and Translational Science Center.
