The mitochondrial Ca++ uniporter of pulmonary type 2 cells determines severity of acute lung injury

We are deeply grateful to Dr. Islam and Dr. Bhattacharya for presenting their remarkable research in our Journal Club. We cannot wait to see more of their work and developments in the near future.

Naeem Islam, PhD (Associate research Scientist) and Jahar Battacharya, MBBS, Phil (Lung Biology Lab Director) at Columbia University in NYC, present their most recent work titled: The mitochondrial calcium uniporter of pulmonary type 2 cells determines severity of acute lung injury.

On this video, Dr. Islam and Dr. Bhattacharya explain in detail the rigorous scientific experiments that allowed for the identification of molecular mechanisms behind acute lung injury in mice. This important discoveries could help prevent or reverse acute lung injury in the future through the development of innovative therapies.

We are deeply grateful to Dr. islam and Dr. Bhattacharya for presenting their remarkable research in our Journal Club. We cannot wait to see more of their work and developments in the near future.
