2 | Everything You Need to Know About Cellular Energetics | Live Review | AP Biology

In this AP Daily: Live Review session, we will focus on cellular energetics. We will look at enzyme catalysis, photosynthesis, and cellular respiration. We will identify experimental controls, make predictions, and support claims.

We will highlight four topics in Unit 3: Cellular Energetics. We will review Topic 3.2: Enzyme Catalysis, addressing the structure and function of enzymes and how enzymes regulate biological processes. In this context, we will look at how to identify experimental procedures, including how to identify appropriate controls. The video will also look at Topic 3.3: Environmental Impacts on Enzyme Function, covering effects of environmental change on enzyme structure and function. Within this topic, we will review how to predict the causes or effects of a change in a biological system. The session covers Topic 3.5: Photosynthesis and Topic 3.7: Fitness, and reviews how cells capture energy from light and transfer it to biological molecules, and how variations in numbers and types of molecules in cells contribute to fitness. We will review how to best support a claim with evidence. We will study Topic 3.6: Cellular Respiration, which shows how cells obtain energy from biological macromolecules in order to power cellular functions.
