Protein Transport Into Mitochondria | Mitochondrial Protein Transport |

like we discussed the protein transport to ER, which was cotranslational translocation. Protein transport to mitochondria is post translational. after the synthesis of the protein, its first folded by cytosolic Hsc70 and then binds to receptor present on the mitochondrial outer membrane with the help of matrix targetting sequence.
