Opioid Tragedy – Inside the Fentanyl Crisis: https://youtu.be/Dfv_tISYl8A

If popping a pill could make you smarter, wittier and increase your memory would you take it? If you were a surgeon working 20 hour days and you could take a pill that kept you performing brilliantly, would you? We are on the verge of a new kind of over-the-counter drug that could change the fabric of our society, they’re called Nootropics, or ‘smart drugs,’ and they’re globally popular both at parties and in the workplace but we are only beginning to be aware of some of the side effects.

  1. I’m a medical student and most of people here are on Nootropics. I’ve personally tried a few and 200mg Modafinil with a couple of cups of coffee worked best for me.

One of the major side effects I experienced was a diminishing sense of empathy. When neutral, I could easily empathise with people and give things time, be patient. On nootropics, it’s all about making progress and it’s impossible to just sit down in silence.

Apart from that, I experienced a slightly elevated heart rate (exam fear probably contributed as well) and a super focus where I could easily pull off 4-5 hours of non-stop study sessions(at the peak I was studying for 15 hours a day).

I liked the experience but it’s not something I’ll adopt as a lifestyle since empathy is important for me, especially in our profession.

Would love to hear from medicos and their experience with Nootropics.

Also, ENDEVR, great documentary as always!

  2. The idea that when you are overworked and your body tells you to stop you can just take a pill without having to pay the price in the long run is the most American AND the stupidest idea I have heard. Your body is a holistic system. A single pill can never put anything in your body that would be sufficient to offset the additional energy and resources needed to get that much energy out of it. It's based on a fundamental misunderstanding how systems work.

  3. Burning the candle on both sides not healthy, it causes premature death. Light pollution, sound pollution, screens, lamps, bulbs, these alone already causing sleep disorders without adding in weird stimulant drugs that will not make anyone smarter.

Water fasting mostly helps obese people with Type 2 diabetes and high blood sugars to finally get the sugar levels to a normal level as their body switches to burning stored fat for energy. Fasting can also purge cancer from the body by Autophagy, where cells recycle cellular biochemicals and clean up when we are not digesting food.

  4. Pressing yourself too hard will cause burnout, people are animals with limits. No one knows everything, no one lives forever, no one powerful or strong compared to a Gorilla //

  5. It saddens me to see people promote modafinil for recreational use. I have a severe autoimmune disease that affects my CNS, and one of my worst symptoms is crippling fatigue.
Trying to get the only drug covered that works to just make me feel functionally awake has been a nightmare. The reasoning for countless denials is solely because it is abused by people who don't need it.

Yet they have np approving Adderall or Ritalin for me, which both I can instantly fall asleep on unless I am on a high dose, which only serves to make me feel so strung out that my crippling fatigue feels like a better alternative.

Also because of the high demand from people who don't need it the price of it is sky high. If I wanted to fill my prescription each month I'd be paying anywhere from 150 to 200 dollars depending on the pharmacy. A monthly price I can't afford. It makes no sense to me as both Adderall and Ritalin are abused just as much if not more yet I'm denied a drug that is safer to use and not habit-forming over synthetic methamphetamines. ????‍???? Either way, the promotion of any of those drugs for recreational use disenfranchises people who have a medical reason for taking them.

  6. Enjoyed this, thank you! I've found very profound results using a daily mushroom gummie. It has Lion's Mane and several others that have effectively replaced my ADHD medicine. Auri is the brand!

  7. Dude is taking all of these asinine pills but refuses to see his problem is being a workaholic. His stress and lack of sleep is going to give him an early heart attack regardless of how much snake oil he ingests. Hustle culture is toxic.

  8. I have been taking 20 milligrams of Adderall for the last 4 years.
I'm prescribed by my family Dr. I take it every morning at 6:45am, 7 days a week.. It as improved every part of my life.. My job especially..
It is way more affective when you Keep it in your system by following a schedule..

  9. Man, sometimes I wish I had something like this…Sorry but we were never built to take pills…What's the last standing effects of taking these drugs??? That female doctor Molly is gorgeous…

  10. Eating very healthy, low BMI, getting deep sleep, regularly walking (not jogging), detoxing, good sex life, and etc … is FAR more essential rather than whatever Rx and magic bullet nootropics. Ginseng, ginger, turmeric and many other roots, herbs, and spices have been known / proven for centuries for naturally good health aspects and the cost is 100 times cheaper than these nootropics.

  11. Lol adderall if taken correctly can help someone thru college and thru a successful career if not taken they most liklry wouldnt finish college..ive seen it a few times..also seen people get hooked on it and go down hill

  12. A "Runner's High" often times won't happen on your first intense jog if you're not used to that sort of cardio. Instead, you're likely to feel exhaustion in exchange… When you first begin working out, or cardio intense exercise, you have to get past an initiation on your stamina before your body gains the stamina to overcome what would otherwise exhaust those who don't do so regularly, and from my experience, that's when a Runner's High is easier achieved.

  13. I really like the presenter. And would love to meet him for no other reason then just for a walk. Worlds apart, that won't happen; so I'll simply state. You're doing great. Close you're eyes too that truth and sleep well????????
