Traditional soft drinks, juice boxes, and energy and sports drinks are loaded with high fructose corn syrup, an ingredient also found in many processed foods. The body processes fructose differently than other sugars, and fructose can lead to weight gain by encouraging the body to store energy. Dr. Richard Johnson and Dr. Dominic D’Agostino discuss the issues with fructose, how fructose can drive food cravings and overeating, how fructose might be an Alzheimer’s contributor, and the potential benefits of a different sugar that might promote the release of GLP-1, the hormone that Ozempic and Wegovy help increase.

Fructose is public enemy numero uno, whether it comes from fruits or any other source
Carbs on low fat diet will not make you diabetic. Both are needed
So what are we supposed to eat?
Be careful he is telling you “natural” fruits. He will even say 1 apple is good 2 is not. Playing around with todays fruit is asking for trouble
Funny how all these scientists end up telling you to stop eating plant products. No fruit, no potatoes, no rice, no grains. That about all of the plant tones diet. Of course they will tell you they eat, green leaves but they don’t.
kind of sales pitchy, oooh.. allulose good for development, oooh fruits have many healthy components to them LOL!,
but, with all these smart people, i would rather see discussions on why gip/glp are perturbed in carbocentric eating.
Great talk, thanks gents
48:28 Blocking fructose could be a novel approach against cancer.
woooo new camera for the DOM. much better
Can you eat excess fat on a low-carb diet? If so, where does the extra fat go?
I wonder why the brain would use fructose as a fuel? There must be some biological reason for this.
I am not impressed by the intro to this video so I will not watch more. He sounds like a simple brained…. So we should never eat any carbs ever? Yeah that doesn't make sense according to evolution….. simple brained… I can't believe levelshealth is endorsing this video.
You can use inulin as a sugar substitute.
It's sad that you talk only about keto. No world about plant based whole food diet 🙁
