birds and Mammals are Homeothermic which means they can maintain their body temperature.That normal temperature is called core temperature.
when rise and fall occured in that core temperature body performs Homeostasis and normalise it back to normal.in case of Hypothermia heat production is the best solution to rise the temperature and this heat production is called Thermogenesis.
